Can old Hiruzen react to V2 Ay shunshin blitz?

It was stated by Kabuto to Orochimaru that Hiruzen during his battle with Orochimaru was the strongest of the Gokage at that particular time.

Ay was the Raikage so if Hiruzen is stronger than Ay, it means Hiruzen can beat him. However, Hiruzen can't win if he fails to react to a speed blitz.

Or do you believe this hype is retconned?

Hiruzen has no counter for jinton either. In part one they hyped him up to be the strongest of the five principles and hyped him up to be god of shinobis is because he is suppose to be this reflection of sungokong.

Now when I think about it I cant see him defeating or being stronger overall than Onoki. Jinton is almost the strongest jutsu when you think about it. (With enough chakra Jinton can destroy even Rikudo TBB or Indra Arrow in direct clash because Jinton is not about explosion it simply turns things to dust ). There is reason Jinton is only known Kekkei Totta.

I think overall Onoki was the strongest kage.

Prime Hiruzen can sense and counter and neutralize it, there is no proof to dispute this. Thats what makes him the strongest, lack of evidence to argue otherwise.

I think it could mean that Hiruzen is overall stronger. By feats, i don't think old Hiruzen can react to Ay's blitz. Anyways, feats-hype wise, Hiruzen has been the most inconcistent.

I'd say he gained that reputation in his gold years. But his old self did not live to that reputation.
Anyways, Hiruzen probably has a way around Ay's speed (not necessarily speed itself).
