Can Obito be redeemed?

I mean, most of us are practically waiting for Sasuke and Naruto to duke it out and Naruto dragging Sasuke's vengeful behind back to the Leaf, make him apologize and then let everything return to (what used to be) normal.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Kakashi did the same thing? I mean, if we get a *ten years later* sort of ending, I'd love to see Kakashi and Obito reunited and laughing side by side. Kakashi has mourned Obito for what, well over 15 years? The thought of him having to actually KILL him this time shortly after finding out that he is alive and rotten to the core is kind of...well, depressing.

What do you think?

(Also, off topic, do you think Madara used Rinnei Tensei on Obito and then trained him? It's the most logical situation I can come up with)

That's what I think will happen as well. Still, it'd be awesome if someone actually managed to survive his change of heart for once.

What do u think about itachi when u first read that he kill all uchiha and what do u think after u know what makes Itachi did that massacre. Maybe it same goes to Obito who become Tobi. I think Obito have his own reason, n its not just about the love thing. Tobi is a good boy .

It was stated earlier (and someone can post the reference if they want, I'm too lazy) in the manga and said directly to Naruto that Tobi isn't doing this because he has hate, instead he uses others' hate (Sasuke, Nagato etc..) to help achieve his goals.

Yet I don't know what to believe exactly if it turns out that Tobi is actually Obito. Did Obito achieve the ability to shut out all feeling from himself? If that's the case then the only choice of action is death.

However, looking at it from here...

He started a war
Summoned the Kyuubi and almost destroyed Konoha
Killed innocent Jinchuuriki to control the world...


I say death.
