The best government:
Which country do you think is doing amazingly well in handling their country? I personally think that New Zealand(not just cuz I live in that country and love it) is doing a very good job.
Why?
Well we have a great social welfare. I don't see much homeless people in the streets or the sidewalks. Our government help people in need, like single, teenage mothers. They help then finish education and take care of the baby. e have a great economy, unlike Philippines(where I formerly lived)we can see green grass everywhere. Seriously. We are handling ourselves very well, we're not much in debt as America is, we are a first-world country, we have great environments. What else do we need? Even after the Christchurch earthquake we're still able to host the 2011 Rugby World Cup. But after this I think that we will be heavily in debt to other countries. I don't think this will demote us to a second-world/third-world country. I have great prde in New Zealand. I love this country!

That's what the thread is about. To compare countries to other ones and trying to figure out the best/a very good country to live in. I just thought of it right now. Not much time put in it. If you mean that some people in other countries may be having a hard time and that people from the same country are having a great time then they can debate over it themselves. Not trying to figure out something impossible, I think with a bit of effort and time we can think this through. Maybe post your favorite country and state reasons as to why you like that country. I just thought of promoting New Zealand as well. xd

Haha yeah I do know but I just thought you'd take the time to explain so I won't have to...

My friend said that money that assets/workers are given only some of the money they should earn. He said that 50% of their salary was given to them and the rest were given to the government. I thought that this was stupid but then he said that they got gift cards/free stuff regularly which basically balances it out. I think this is the case for Holland/Sweden only I don't know...Didn't pay much attention xd

Also I think that they're doing well in terms of debt, imports, exports and sales...

That seems to go back to what I first said : Problems differ with countries so it's impossible to evaluate government way of handling them on equal basis

I think it depends on the culture too. Like take Japan for example. They're doing alright, however, many people could argue that their gov't has its inefficiencies but because the japanese people have this culture of collectivism and cooperation they do alright. If the U.S. was run the way Japan is idk that it would turn out the same... o.o

Still, I think most European countries have it nice. (Canada as well). I notice a lot of european countries have this nice balance of ethical responsibility in their gov't (they try to watch their pollution, they sometimes have universal healthcare, etc. etc.) along with personal freedom and capitalistic freedom..

Canada's government way of dealing with problem is crappy, they are alright for now because they have money but sooner or later their gonna run out and be in deep shit U_U

Last time I visited AKA this morning, politicians waste money, hundreds if not thousands of people die in the hospital because public doctors aren't paid enough so they go in private and those who can't afford to pay for private just wait up in line hopping for a doctor to come before it's to late

About 2 years ago they cut off like like 61millions from the budget of public school to give 54 millions to private schools while public schools lacks money to have enough staff. And you know what the remaining 7 million was for? a ****ing party for the brilliant a-holes who tough of that

The roads are shitty and full of holes

When the queen decides to come visit, we pay with our taxes for her trip and we supposedly lack money

And I'll stop there because the list goes on with no apparent ending
It's truly handled like crap for what we should be able to do

Well at the time the French military was one of the worlds greatest, and yeah I always tough that we should have accepted when the U.S proposed to ally against Britain

Well my friend visited Canada last year I think...He didn't have any complaints. And why would you guys pay for the taxes though? That's deep selfishness coming from the queen. She is rich, she can pay for a trip.

Well not saying that your friends a liar but he most probably visited a touristic area AKA the areas that the government invest a lot of money on so of course people around there are fine

Plus I think you can trust more someone who lives there than someone who only visited, then again I have no proofs of what I advance

I didn't say we have it hard, just saying that the way government handle's the country is BS because of things such as our taxes used to pay for the queens trip, money of public school getting removed to give to private schools, the government refusing to give more money to pay the public doctors so we lack doctors and all kind of stupid decisions like that >.>
