Can Naruto summon shadow clones distances away from him?

I've been wondering this for a long time. Can Naruto summon a shadow clone thats a distance away from him, or do they all have to be right next to him, or close?

Close I would assume. Most clones appear directly next to the user.

Every time he uses them, they spawn right next to him, so that's all he can do.

Probably, seeing as how he does an inverse thing with Sage more, but i doubt he has the skill for it at this point.

If he could spawn them from a distance than he would have done it when he entered the war. Instead he spawned dozens out of himself and then sent them off in separate directions. If he could spawn them at different distances just imagine how versatile Kage bunshin could become

Nobody can cause the clones comes out of the main body it not like they just appear from no were so it impossible for any one to create a clone distance from his/her position...
