Ultimately, NO, I don't believe he can die from stretching too far. His DF ability isn't unlimited, and he has been seen stressing himself over certain distances. Stretch too far, and he will tear apart his muscle of the said body part, which can be excruciatingly, unimaginably painful. But I don't think that would kill him.
