why is Koto amatsukami so hyped? the jutsu failed already in the series.

It didn't fail, Shishui just got handled before he could use it against Danzo. It worked against Edo Itachi. it's so powerful because you can literally alter a person's thoughts/reality with it's use, and not for a short time but forever. The problem is the cool down time. I mean 10 years is a really long time before you can use it again.

Normally I would agree, but it seems every time Yhwach/Juhabach is pressed into a corner he has already seen it and thus has the convenience of plot to immediately produce a super new ability that would render Kotoamatsukami worthless.

It did fail, remember when Danzo tried it with Mifune? the jutsu is powerful true, but it isn't unbeatable, it can be beat

Didn't he detect it with his Byakugan before it could take effect? Or did it just not work? but I see your point and I did forget about that instance in the Kage summit so your point is valid U_U
