The third raikage tanked it because he was an Edo, i don't think he could if he was alive, at least, it will injure him severely.

No he tanked it thanks to his monstrous resilience and lightening shield, Edo or not he would have still tanked it.

Even if kabuto survive he would lose his ability to mold chakra since all of his cell would have been severed. But he can get a new body by using oral rebirth. He can't direct tank it like 3rd raikage but he can counter the effect which is not tanking per say
