The quotations say it all.

What do you mean 'his main tanking ability is the regenerating abilities he got from Orochimaru'? Orochimaru does not have liquidation/healing/sage mode. While I respect your opinion that Kabuto cannot survive it, please don't compare him to Orochimaru and use scans from that fight because they have completely different abilities.

TrollingSage statement is correct in a sense, as the results of his body needed to rehydrate. But at the same time Suijutsu wasn't obliterated nor died. The tail beast beam is irrelevant to shape, as it carried the same damage as a ball bomb[ ]. So whatever reason he is using doesn't make sense at all.

Secondly the lake did not shield him as you clearly see the TBB stripping right thought the water and hearing Suijutsu voice inside the impact, which confirms it land on him. The blast also continued with a larger blast. So in the end he indeed survive a TBB.

I should probably have said that his strongest tanking ability is the power he got from Orochimaru. With it he can use oral rebirth. While sage mode and the uzumaki life force let him recover more quickly, the power of the white snake, as sasuke put it, also does this and faster recovery isn't going to help when trying to tank a TBB. Being able to use the water in his body isn't going to help much against a TBB either.

I think that the move used against Suigetsu was pretty feeble compared to a proper TBB.

There's this

And then there's this

Oh... well then how the hell did Suigetsu survive!? Maybe he's able to regenerate from water? It would explain why he was in a tank of water while recovering, and how he was able to survive, since he was in a lake.

He survived due to the priorities of his body, that was stated to neglect physical attacks. The lake didn't save him, if it really were to help, he should of really started healing here

since he is laying on top of the lake.

You're ignoring the fact that Suigetsu also absorbed a ton of water, meaning he had far better protection than Kabuto ever got.
