Can Itachi's sharingan control people?

In the fight against Kabuto, itachi could have controlled kabuto with his sharingan or put him in a genjutsu, right?

Why didn't he do it at the first glance between the two at the bottom of page. Kabuto was looking at itachi

yes he can.... he did it after the battle plus kabuto has some snake ability that covers his eye sight...
so when he's looking at you his eyes are still covered, he isn't using eyesight... its senses..

kabuto was so confident that he said his jutsu weakness genjutsu and itachi knew that! he was full confident! why?why? the answer is same and itachi vs kabuto fight explained! i dont know how u missed it!
kabuto had developed a way of countring genjutsu! especially eye as he knew tobi had sharingan(he didnt expect iyachi) his vision wont be affected by genjutsu as he had modified his body different way so no genjutsu would work

The only thing Kabuto did to shield himself vs Genjutsu is create those shades over his eyes after he entered sage mode. That was why he said he totally blocked off his own eye sight so they couldn't use genjutsu on him. That was his only guard against it. In this scene in the TS post, Kabuto knows not to look them in the eyes directly or else he will be caught in an genjutsu.
