Nope, their souls are in Naruto and Sasuke's bodies and cannot be summoned by Edo Tensei. Kinda like how the Edo Hokages were not able to be summoned by Edo Tensei because they were in the RDS's belly.

Nope they can't be Edo'd because they travel as Lost Souls within their transmigrants and it is impossible to revive the original brothers. Also their bodies are destroyed so I am not seeing how you can Edo Tensei a destroyed body.

No, Hagoromo saw Ashura's soul in Naruto. By that logic, it's obvious that Indra's soul is in Sasuke. For Edo Tensei, you need the soul, the chakra won't be enough. Only way they can be Edo Tenseid is to kill Naruto and Sasuke which will release Indra and Ashura's souls (So that they can prepare their souls for the next transmigration Phase), capture their souls and Edo Tensei them.

Hmm I see. I can't be arsed to search that now though, since I am lazy lol but I think that this is a bit far fetched with the words 'reborn into' and 'soul'. If that was the case, how come each Ashura and Indra reincarnates have their own personalities etc ? Sure they share some characteristics with the original Ashura and Indra but they all have their own, distinct characters.

It's either this, or transmigrants have 2 souls in their body, theirs and the transmigrant themselves. But you're right, obviously since madara and hashi were revived, they clearly have their own soul.

In transmigration, a soul temporarily inhabits another entity. As such that entity will have two souls in one body. One will be the source soul with his body and his own distinct personality. The other soul which is temporarily inhabiting the body is the transmigrant soul.

Naruto has two souls - His own and Ashura's. (I am not counting the Bijuus).

Sasuke has two souls - His own and Indra's.

In both above cases, the transmigrant souls have no control over the host body or his personality.

Orochimaru's transmigration follows the same logic : His own soul and the Host soul; except he completely takes over the host body and imposes his own personality. His trransmigration technique is more refined than Indra and Ashura's.

There's a difference in having the soul and just chakra. Edo Tensei requires the soul, not the chakra.

This seems to be the most likely case. And of course I'm assuming their bodies aren't dust particles right now and are preserved somewhere for the sake of argument.

Like how maddy had a pair of fake rinnegans as an edo, I'm assuming Indra and Ashura as edos would have an "unauthentic" version of their original power.
