Are u sure the image format is Gif? Find and try other Ava sized gifs and see if that works.

Are you using a url or straight from your computer?

If the gif is directly uploaded from ur computer Try uploading the gif to a image hosting website like imgur, photo bucket, imageshack, and then copy the URL and set it as ur Ava.

It's because it's too large.

vBulletin resizes it to fit within 150x200, and therefore it looses its animation.

Resize it via photoshop before uploading mate.
