Yea maybe in his his prime but I'm not to sure old hiruzen can but maybe he could because a battle is won by u successfully countering your opponents moves and then using the best tech for the situation and people say rds is all he has well that's not true rds was the best for that situation because of the edo hokages and well upon hiruzen's death he was said to be the most powerful of the Kage which, included A, Ohnoki, Yagura/Mei, 4th Kazekage which are all extremely powerful shinobi but even in his old age he still was the strongest and well if A can fight sasuke while sasuke has susano and Mei fought susano and melted it, I'm sure the 3rd God Of Shinobi can come up with something if itachi said he was equal to Jiraiya and well we knw all the sannin are somewhat equal up until now with oro having mokuton but before they were equals and Hiruzen fought 2 edo and oro well I'm sure not even itachi can beat oro, edo hashirama, and tobirama and I doubt sasuke could too so he'll yea hiruzen possibly could but we will never knw
U guys act like susano is impenetrable when its not, susano broke it and gaara and Danzo exploited its weak spots which were from the bottom and from the spine area gaara pulled Madara from under and Danzo attack sasuke from the back whose to say hiruzen can't attack from the back or summon Emma who can use Kagebushin to make clones and attack simultaneously???
