Just because she has a kekkei genkai, it doesn't mean she is superior to Sakura neither that she can use it properly, because a fight also demands strategy, speed, experience, and so on, and in the manga Sakura has better feats than Hinata. She is canonically very intelligent and has great analytic skills according to Sasuke and Naruto and the third databook confirms Sakura > Hinata. Sakura's intelligence, genjutsu, speed and strenght are above Hinata. The total of Sakura's skills sum 26, while Hinata's sum 21.5.
