my new year so far has sucked.

my grandma has been dead for lil more then two months. i lost someone close to me a 2 weeks ago again.

then to top it of, my dad and i are fighting all the time.

me and him never ever spend time with each other like just father and son. he brings along everyone else.

i am not able to go for a walk.

to top it off he does not ever come home every night. he always forgets to sign my school stuff and he blames me when it does not get signed.

we fight over pretty much everything and i am faltering in my school work because i am stressed to a breakin point.
but somehow i am bum when it comes to his judgment. he always gives me this i am proud of you speech. but... it is hallow. since everyday i am stuck at home alone. there is some days i cannot even get a ride home if i stay after school and i have to take the risk to walk the highways which are always busy by the way.

what i am trying to say is "is there a way to get him to understand that i am at my limit emotionaly, spiritualy, and mentaly."

i am 17
a senior in highschool
this is my last year.
i run a club (in real life) creative writing club.
i try to bake and cook for the family sometimes.
i get at least 4 hours asleep.

sorry if this fustrates anyone.

Maybe trying to talk to him, like when he tries to walk away or something follow him or stop him and say we need to talk and tell him how you feel..or try to get you're mom to help. Hope I helped a little.

I am really sorry that you're under that sort of pressure. I never really had much of a relationship with my parents. Just try to hang in there and find something that relaxes you so you don't go over the edge. I'm sorry your grandmother died. Maybe your dad doesn't know how to cope with her loss so he is being a jerk to you. If you need any help, just VM me.

I would say to keep pressing through. Or have an intervention. But most likely the first. Trust me my brother and my dad both had parent problems. You don't want to hold a grudge against your dad when your an adult. And when your kids ask you if you loved your dad and you say that you don't know how you felt. Because then your gonna regret it.

Also remember that no matter what he does, he is still your dad so dont hold a grudge on him. I know is hard not too but your get no where with that.

Its kind of hard to give advice to someone when youre not certain of all the circumstances but i had similar issues with my father so i basically cut him out of my life as much as i could. Although to be honest, family has never been that important to me. That may be a different case for you but it helped me eliminate a lot of the stress in my life. Just try and hang out with friends a little more and just try to relax. If you just sit back and not let anything get to you too much you wont feel nearly as bad. Hoped this helped a little.

you know what i can't wait for... to graduate so that way i can go away and just have my own space for a good while

correction

maybe if i just stop trying and maybe if he opened his eyes up he would see that i do care but i gave up trying.

I come from a similar situation, although perhaps not exact to yours, as my dad was always home. However me and him fought A LOT over my school work. I always got A's and B's but for him that was not good enough. He's a real aggressive type personality who owns 2 engineering companies.

I'm a freshman in college now. I can tell you having your own space and working on your major will probably be a relief for you. If you set a goal and work hard to achieve that, maybe your dad will come around to see that you're in the right. Me and my dad have a lot of bad history, but it seems I am actually making him proud now.

Don't know if this helps, but I hope so :D!

I understand you perfectly. I believe he wants you to start argue with him, fight for your own thing. If you will not answer anyhow, you will suffer even more. That's the lesson for your future. In the real world you have to jostle. I did argue with my father a couple of times, even severely. Later on, he even told me to do so. To "Act bossy". Everything he has will be mine one day. It would be terrible to just lose it. xD

So, you have to tell him that you also have something to say. Be confident. Of course it's just my advice.
