In a few short debates with another member I began wondering the potential of Gaara and his gold dust usage against the previous mizukage.

I know there is another thread but its more on the magnet release aspect of this.

So after he sealed his father Gaara used gold dust to defeat the mizukage. I've heard "He used the gold from his father, thats all." But that still proves he could move it around, manipulate it, and if thats the case then seperate it from sand and other minerals in the ground like he has done against say, kimmamarou for instance (typo on kimmi's name) so in the first link we say him use sand/gold to make a clone. Does this prove he can manipulate gold dust?
Because if so it would prove a huge gain for Gaara against for instance, Raiton attacks that conduct electricity since the gold could be arranged as a conduit to travel the current anywhere gaara wanted.

Opinions?

EDIT: yes, I know its "gold" and not "godl" I don't multi-talk well. heh

No he just mixed his dad's gold dust with his sand so when the mizukage used that steam technique, the gold would melt on him, thus temporarly stopping him. So the answer is no

Its now in his arsenal, check the Pedia out

if he carries some in his gourd then maybe. and that just means he used it before. plus gold dust is much heavier than Gaara's sand so there's no need for it unless he faces someone again with that steam technique thingy

when did he ever use it??
in the link I gave, read another page or two for the whole sequence. He "solidified" mizukage's clone by adding gold dust to it when it "steamed"

and to Yuan of cruxis, ty. i'll check the pedia now. :) and if he can move it around, i would think he could "mine it" in a sence for jutsu. We shall see i guess. :)

Even if it was his dads gold dust or not, he wielded gold dust none the less.

What's up with all the Gaara threads lately? Is it National Gaara Day or something?

But yeah, he would have the ability to use it, if he got his hands on it again. So yes, he can. I don't think he ever will, though. It seemed more like a temporary weapon against the Mizukage than a permanent power-up.

Exactly what i think

I'm not a fanboy of gaara, just alot of threads about gaara vs. or gaara and BLANK vs. so on and so forth, so i did some research and wanted to get my facts straight is all. BTW its in the pedia "gold dust" under "tools" so maybe there will be a possiblity later on in the manga he will use his father magnet release using gold like his father, or maybe even his own.
Anyways, naruto.wikia has it posted so question answered I guess. thnxs

That means nothing... Anytime a character using a tool once, its added to his wiki page even if its a 1 time thing. Plus, just because its on the wikia, doent make it true. anyone can edit those

No, Gaara cannot use it. Just because he was able to carry the gold dust with his own sand once does not mean he can use the gold dust itself.

You need the Magnet Release (Jiton) in order to use it.
Gaara does not have Jiton.
