Gaara can beat Guy Sensei. Taijutsu is what Gaara lacks the most, but his sand more than makes up for it. His sand has gotten much stronger and faster since Lee and Kimimaro. Pure taijutsu users are at a disadvantage when it comes to Gaara because it's not about whether you can dodge the sand or not, you have to have a way to literally get the hell off the ground in order to survive a straight one on one. Gaara more than likely knows Guy is a pure taijutsu user and he will do exactly what he tried to do to Kimimaro. The difference is that Guy doesn't have a way of getting out from under the sand like Kimimaro did with his Kekkei Genkai.

I'm a fan of gaara, but i have to keep it real, so my answer is no. why? because gai can reach eight gate far quicker than lee, and is more effective and has a wider variety of moves that are like wow, when you think about it. like the fight with kisame. i just don't think gaara can keep up with speed of that magnitude, it would be a great fight, but gaara's still a tough cookie to deal with.U_U

gai did not really defeat kisame, i dont think even kakashi could have defeated kisame. ofcourse kakashi could 1 shot him with his eye sniping thingy but thats alittle..unlikely. anywho think gaara would win. he was able to stop raikages move so i think his sand is sufficiently fast enough & defensively enough to win.

And he was able to block Amaterasu, which has only been outmaneuvered by the The Fourth Raikage. His sand can keep up with Guy, especially now that he has his mother.
