Can fight of Epic proportions and length be written in 5 chapters?

I mean Kenshin vs Shishio was roughly 9 chapters. Several of which he didn't participate in because of the fact he'd already weakened himself from two previous fights as well as Yumi's interruption.

Which basically tones it down to roughly six chapters they fight. Considering Naruto has a movie that seemingly deals with wrap ups, it leaves enough room for a solid fight if Kishi plays emotion and action perfectly.

If its straight fighting with nothing else then yeah it will fit. But if there is taking then needs to add more pages.

Have authors ever done that, add a lot more pages to a chapter?
