Can ems be transplanted?

I've always thought of ems as a fusion between two pairs of eyes, as in sasukes and itachis eyes are one and the same now, am I correct or does one simply switch their eyes with another's and discard they're old ones.

And they are or arent can the ems version be passed from one person to another

Yes, if that happens then both brothers would get EMS which would be overpowered and also a reason as to why it was not shown in the manga.
