What can the kages do to actually kill him? The only threat would be Onoki and A's combined speed, but that can be countered with being airborne, he also has good reflexes and was able to stop Bee's lariat completely it could be used to stop A's punches.

They've got to deal with him on top of his 9 summons so he's not outnumbered. Mei and Tsunade can be killed fairly quickly with a combination of bansho tennin and human path like he did to Naruto and the rest aren't that strong. People are just saying no without giving it much thought.
