No. The dead half of kurama inside minato is also an edo and is helping minato, thats why narutos kurama borrowed chakra as well, if minato was alive hed still have bm, if the kurama inside him allowed it. Naruto has nothing to do with it.

I think Naruto would win after a long fight. The two of them would take forever to hit each other with their reflexes, speed, and fighting strategies. But many Shadow clones and FTG kunais later, I think Naruto would take it

Without BM Naruto couldn't hit Minato.
Its instant, Naruto isn't instant nor is his sensing so Minato solo's unless proving otherwise. Plot is the only thing that saves him though. If they were to fight.
Why did you think he decided the help Minato now and not before? Because of Kuramas trust in Naruto not Minato. Minato alive cant even use the Kyuubi because he didn't fight Kurama until he was in the death gods belly. Fact is Minato died just to seal Kurama inside him. He never earned his trust on his own like Naruto did. Minato's Kurama is a half of a whole. Naruto convinced the fox not Minato.

The initial question is BM Minato vs BSM Naruto. How Minato attains or doesn't attain BM shouldn't matter. This is a hypothetical fight.

Minato is a kage level ninja even WITHOUT the kyuubi. He was an incredibly skilled ninja who even defeated MS/Senju DNA Obito. His skillfulness, strategy, and intellect are at an absolutely different level from Naruto's. His skills are polished like diamond, while Naruto's are sloppy as hell

I realise how OP Minato would have been if he had both his arms and now understand why Kishi restricted him. Think about it. Minato so far only needed to TOUCH an opponent to defeat him and knowing his speed unless possessing great defensive jutsu or evasive technique, it was practically impossible for that not to happen.
Now add that with the fact he possess half of the strongest Tailed Beast chakra inside him, he could use and maintain tajuu kage bunshin at will, with FTG teleportation on multiple kunais around the area, spamming Big rasengans and so on, space-time barrier or Bijuudamas. Ever thought of a teleporting Kurama? With all that, he has the most destructive capacities in the serie. With defensive space-time barriers, sealing techniques and so on, and you really have a overpowered dude really
