I would like to know that as well :)

Not that hard actually.

Step 1: Make a 2x2 canvas. Fill it with black and white squares. Black on the first pixel, white on the second pixel to its right, black on the third pixel below the white, and white on the pixel to the left of that.
Black-White
White-Black
Step 2: Go to image/edit (the tabs above photoshop)
Step 3: Define pattern. (This basically saves it.)
Step 4: Go to your stock/render
Step 5: Create a new layer
Step 6: Select All
Step 7: Stroke 2 px in white
Step 8: Create another layer
Step 9: Select all and stroke again, but this time in black and 1 px
Step 10: Use this layer (the one where you stroked in black) and grab the color bucket
Step 10: Go to the top left where it says foreground > click on it> brings down a window> choose pattern
Step 11: Choose the 2x2 pattern we just made
Step 12: Create a layer mask over the black-stroked layer
Step 13: Fill the layer mask with that pattern.

That just about sums it up
