Rereading the scans i’m reminded how stupid Izanami is as a concept. Izanagi is an OP genjutsu that lasts 60 seconds with Uchiha and Senju chakra. Causes total blindness in one eye as a cost.

Uchiha elders: we need a punishment jutsu, that will also causes total bindness. For the purpose of disciplining people who use Izanagi and can’t safely use it ever again.
