The only way to counter Suigetsu, is by holding the sword before the illusion is cast. Nothing else.

If you mean solely within bleach, ichigo was able to counter it because he had not seen it yet. So a character that is faster and stronger could potentially blitz aizen before he draws his sword. Also Tosen was blind so he wasn't able to be affected either. However, I do not know if you could blind yourself after seeing it and be immune.

But no, Yamamoto also find a way to counter KS in FKT, while holding Aizen's hands and not just that, but Aizen was able to negate Sui Feng's zanpakuto ability with his own reiatsu, and at that time stated that Shinigami's battles are battles of reiatsu and as long as you have highest reiatsu you can negate opponents ability, which all lead me to assumption that there are another way to counter KS.

I'm guessing if the Soul King is like God he could easily defeat Aizen. But if he's like God he might also want to the world to sort out its own problems.
