So yes, well, ichigo was close to beating him, but still needed Urahara's help with the sealing.

So to be honest I doubt anyone in bleach would be able to defeat him 1 on 1.

The only way to counter Suigetsu, is by holding the sword before the illusion is cast. Nothing else.
