Can Amaterasu be sped up?

Question in title.

It can be controlled in all of it's properties, which include but are not limited to width, length, shape, form, solidness and quickness in which it burns (and no, that's not 'answering my own question' before anybody decides to be a smart ass and says it. I'm not asking if it can be sped up once it hits a target, I'm asking if it can be executed and delivered faster)

But my question... is even though it's a (I'm assuming) S Rank tech, a handful of characters can dodge it. So I ask, if Sasuke or Itachi wanted to, could they speed up the process by which it's sent across a distance? And does distance have anything to do with how quickly it hits the target?

They'd probably lose their eyesight/chakra even faster for a slim chance at hitting high tier characters.

EDIT: Applies only to MS. EMS Amaterasu Probably wastes a lot chakra.

All we know is that amaterasu ignites where the user focuses the technique at. Raikage in v2 was able to dodge it with his shunshin by evading Sasukes point of focus at the last second. Obito was able to sense and react in time being the transcendent being he is. The only manipulation of this that has been shown is holding in Amaterasu and releasing at any given moment.
