If you or whoever else you are PM'ing and it gets reported. They can see the reported post. They don't go out of their way to snoop into your PM's. They have enough work.

You signed up to the forum thus you agreed to the rules. You really think they would waste their time combing though your PM's, or anyone's for that matter? No.

They choose not to stalk PM's, they'll just see them if someone report a PM because it had something innapropiated.

What if you're breaking laws? Rules? Then it becomes the admins issue.
Don't be sending stupid shit and you won't have to worry about the admins going through your messages.
And like Nathan said, You signed up for this forum and agreed to the terms of service & Privacy & Terms .

Admins have the possibilities to read them, moderators and global moderators don't.
Like it's been said before, they really don't care all too much or don't keep themselves busy with reading them.

If someone, however starts to spam things in a PM to someone that is disturbing for some reason, or borderline stalkish, they have the power to read into it and act accordingly to it.

If this alarms you, I suggest you stop using the internet all together. Every bit of information you send can be intercepted and overseen by the owners of the service through which the data is sent. Don't you think email-services and what not do the same?

there's more incentive to nose around the mail of someone you know. i know for a fact if I were admin or mod or whatever, i would snoop to get the scoop on people i am curious about, succumbing to the temptation in a heartbeat. or maybe it's just because i'm undisciplined and unprincipled.

anyway, maybe not your site particularly, but I can think of some sizable ones i've been on in the past where the staff are reprobate. so it sends a shiver down my spine to think that these unsavory people have that sort of information at their fingertips.

I for one wouldn't care about it in the first place. In the second place, mods can't do it, nor gmods. Third, admins can do it, but they don't deal with the community on a personal level (they do the overal stuff), because they have mods/gmods for it. So basically, your point is pretty void here.
