I think you work with what is part of your life, if you love architecture you work with that etc. Then there are differences between jobs and careers, you might have a job just to make money or you have a career where you are more comfortable and passionate.
Also I think if you don't fit for a certain job then you wont be hired, you kinda need to be religious to work with religion for example.
