some say that byakugan users can stay out of sharingan based genjutsu because they could look down or close their eyes but still be able to see the fight. wouldnt the image still go to their brain though? shouldnt that initiate the genjutsu?

like what if a person who is completely blind made eye contact with itachi? could itachi use tsukuyomi on him? i think it wouldnt work because the brain is not being confused. but a byakugan user can still see the opponents eyes even if theyre not looking at them so wouldnt they still get caught?

im not sure if i made myself clear

No they are prone to eye contact genjutsu's just like everybody else to my knowledge, but what people need to remember is you just don't look into their eyes. If a byakugan user went up against a sharingan user just like a normal person he will not look into their eyes.

Because there's no eye contact being made.
so by that logic can a blind man be affected by eye contact genjutsu? eye contact is made

the byakugan user is still looking into the sharingan users eyes even if their head is facing a different directions so the image should still go to their brain

Eh... don't worry. I don't think this will even happen in the manga.

Sharingan user can stand behind a byakugan user and trap them in Genjutsu because of the almost 360 vision.

But like the other dojutsu i would think the byakugan can see though/Detect genjutsu because the byakugan has the best insight of the 3 dojutsu.

the Byakugan's ability to see chakra and its flow allows the user to detect chakra sealed barriers as well as determine when genjutsu is being used which makes it effective against certain genjutsu. Closing ones eye does avoid the risk of genjutsu, it has nothing to do with the Byakugan tho. and the looking down is something Might Guy came up with, also nothing to do with the Byakugan. and itachi use of tsukuyomi would be one of the few that would be highly effective since his is special and can only be broken by someone related to him(mother, father, brother ,sister)

A point i've wanted to get across, they have 360 vision yes but how does that mean they will look into someone's eyes he comes into their 360 vision.

Can't they just simply not look into their eyes the same way they could not look into their eyes if they was right in front of them?

Um ¬.¬ A blind person. UUUUUH, well then if a blind person can get caught in it wouldn't Gai would get caught even when he was looking at itachi's feet.

So no a blind person can't get caught the in the Jutsu as it needs eye contact.

The person needs to look into itachi's eyes and itachi needs to look back.

BOOM, wusaaaaap thought you got me there.....lol xd.

Can't say for sure. Here's the logic I use:

1. There is a wall between the Byakugan user (BU) and the Sharingan User (SU). BU looks through the wall at the SU's eyes. Does he fall into a genjutsu?

2. BU looks through the back of SU's head to see his eyes. Does BU get caught in a genjutsu?

3. SU closes his eyes, BU see them using X ray vision. Does BU get caught in a genjutsu?

If you say yes to any of the above, then BU will get caught in a genjutsu even with his eyes closed.

If the blind person can not see his eyes he won't get caught, as both people have to look into the other persons eyes,

Ever heard the phrase, "looked right through him"?
