Can 8 gates really do that much?

Madara said that gai would need red steam. So (as said by millions of others) Madara has fought 8 gates and won, considering the fact he told Hashi that only he could fight Madara evenly. Madara is now faster than Minato could react so maybe he can keep up? That's just my thoughts.

....just because madara knows about the 8th gate doesnt mean he fought against someone who used it....by your logic kakashi has fought and beat someone who opened the 8th gate.
and obviously gai is going to die in vein...he will not be the one to kill madara.

considering Madara was part of the leaf village and the amount of scrolls in the leaf village that contained a number of forbidden jutsu and other jutsu it would not suprise me if madara had seen it in one of the scrolls..

also whether the gates can do much comes down to the user.. a taijutsu master like gai im expecting his 8 gates will be awesome

Of course he has to, 8 gates was overhyped few times in part 1 and part 2, if he doesn't do anything against madara, idk what to do then.​
