[Question] Calling all EXPERT Luffy fans

It's pretty same situation in Bleach. Both Ichigo and Luffy were portrayed right from the start (nearly) as stronger than their nakama, on the other hand, Naruto was not portrayed as strongest at the first, actually Sasuke was stronger for good deal of manga, and they were portrayed as equal for good perion of time.

Situation in Naruto is not same as in the OP and Bleach.

1. Luffy is a captain. I never saw any First mate being stronger than Captain. Roger > Silvers, WB > Marco (and other commanders), Shanks > Benn, Doflamingo > Corazon/Pica/Trebol/Diamante, Kid > Killer,....

2. Luffy was always matched with strongest opponent, while Zoro fight second strongest and Sanji third.
Arlong > Hatch, Crocodile > Daz Bones, Lucci > Kaku, Doflamingo > Pica.

3. Zoro will not work under someone who is weaker than him. Zoro even said once: "If you are weak, than I will become captain" or something along this line.

Luffy > Zoro.

Zoro tells Chopper that there is a different reason why he follows Luffy(most probably because he enjoys being with Luffy)

We can go back to when they fought Moria.
Luffy has CoA, Kings haki, and CoO.
I think Kings haki is what sets them apart.

Portraly always puts luffy's opponents way above Zoro's opponents. We Know Sanji is not strong than zoro because Sanji gets equally damaged from weaker opponents.

Zoro gets equally damaged by Weaker opponents as luffy does stronger opponents. That puts him above the other one.


Luffy always fights the strongest because he is the strongest
zoro always fights the second strongest because he is the second strongest
Sanji fights the third strongest because he is the third strongest.

Jeez you are talking about an entirely different league here. When charachters who are really close to each other in terms of strength are compared then we can use the Haki mastery to put one above the other. Needless to say that this method of comparison is only valid for this duo.
