BZ had a role to play so decided to act in character. WZ hasn't seen many ninja powerful like Itachi due to inexperience. BZ had to pretend to make the conversation flow. He had to pretend to seem less wise and dangerous.

Considering White Zetsu was around even before Black Zetsu was created, I'm gonna have to disagree with him being "inexperienced". Especially since his job in Akatsuki is to record fights.

If he wanted to play along, he would've acted dumbfounded like WZ was. Instead he wanked Itachi and provided information regarding the mechanics of Yata and Totsuka, which made him sound wiser.

But he dint want to sound too wise. Obviously BZ knew about weapons like the sword of Nuboko etc. He knew all about the Sage and his powers. He knew all about COAT.

In comparion to all that BZ knew, acting the way he did with WZ is still playing dumb. Sure he was the leader of the two and had to act smarter. But he still had to tone it down a lot.

However, at the end of the day, that was just hype. Everyone knows Itachi isn't invincible. Itachi himself even stated that everything has a weakness.

Dude i am sure at the time, Kuro-Zetsu was Madara's will cuz how the hell Kaguya should know anything about Yata&Totsuka or about Sharingan and Mangekyo Sharingan and about there abilities. ...she dont even know Indora...and she certainly dont know anything about this Power...think about it ^ ^

power = intelligence? thats a fallacy. and show me kaguya herself saying something about itachi because as far as im aware, black zetsu is a lackey who is only making a move becase he is drawing on obitos chakra reserves, and was before this, a noob who got smacked around by mei terumi
