You do realize descendants is a very vague term and can refer as close to as father and son to as far down as 10 generations.

The uzumaki is the modern shinobi clan of the Ōtsutsuki, that's why!

Tobi was referring to that all of the elder sons bloodline are the uchiha. he didn't say anything that, the hyuga were the first ones then the uchiha came after.

it still makes no sense that the Byakugan would be unrelated to the other dojutsus. Looks like we're back to square one.

I remembered a certain theory I heard from a friend, a few years ago and thought 'why not'. They were talking about the Hyuga clan and how Kishimoto could really build on them. The idea was that, in succession to their ancestral bloodline (Uchiha Clan), their eyes could unlock a new form of dojutsu. From what my friend said, it could be like a pure/untainted version of the sharingan or a new eye altogether. Since the discovery of the relationship between Uzumaki's and Senju's, we seen many prominent similarities between them put into the manga... Some even before-hand. As it is for the Uzumaki Clan, their special chakra, longevity and sealing techniques were very formidable. Still, the only thing that connects the Hyuga and Uchiha is the fact they both have dojutsu types. Now I forgotten a lot of what he said, so everything he said might not be 100%.
As for the untainted sharingan idea, he believes that a well-experienced individual with byakugan can awaken an untainted sharingan. Where as the will of the juubi is absent from their eyes it can't effect them like the Uchiha. So the Uchiha power would only pass to them and not he juubi's will. So the eye would activate as a blue or white eye instead of a red one.

Note that the power Kaguya used was not ninjutsu.

Ninjutsu was later developed by the Sage.

The Hyuuga are not known to use any form of ninjutsu - their techniques are completely their own.

I suspect there is a link, here. If the Byakugan has a heightened state, it would be something akin to the "Eye of Destiny" or a similarly Taoist-themed eye.

Consider how the Hyuuga can, normally, manipulate the chakra flow of their opponent. Now, imagine a Hyuuga capable of manipulating the flow of nature energy in a manner similar to a "Sage Mode."

I suspect this will be incorporated into the story at some point. Hinata will obtain the power Kaguya once used to put an end to war to clear the way for a new Sage. Their destiny is a shared one:

Breaking new the Bykagugan was mistaken to be apart of the great doujutdu It was actually the byakugou, but it was so rare no none could find it, so it was just assumed to be the Bykugan lol

Kishi probably won't touch on it anymore. He obviously had big plans for it which he scrapped when his creativity started to die down.

I think it still has relevance because there is practically no information about the uzimaki and hyuga clans. This will probabbly be revealed in the final arc. I dont think this is the final arc either.

The way my friend thought it up is a mystery to me I'm only posting cause I wanted others opinions on it. But now that my mind's been wrapped-up into this I can say the possiblity is there. With Kakashi already stating the relationship between the Uchiha and Hyuga, the relationship is already there. The fact of the matter is where does the relationship come in at. I'm not saying the Hyuga gave birth to the Uchiha, we already know the sage did, that's not an issue. What I'm trying to get to is the Hyuga's "mutation" known to be the byakugan and where did it originate. The way I see it is the the Uchiha mixed bred with another clan, The Hyuga. Making their KKG even better, allowing the abilities of seeing chakra, and the specialized points of flow, and x-ray vison. Allowing them to utilize their taijutsu so efficiantly. As it is noted that the Hyuga's eyes aren't cursed like the Uchiha's are and I believe this due to genetics. Just like not all Uchihas are held by the hatred (Shisui/Itachi). Maybe osince their not Uchiha, their eyes can't carry the curse along. Or the fact that their eyes aren't strong enough to hold the Juubi's hatred.
Whatever the reason, their eyes in the basic activation are similar 3T and byakuga, and it's not too far fetched of an idea to think them related. I would be looking for something the Hyuga, as a second activation... even if It is that Taoist theory. Give them something.
