Byakugan severely underpowered?

What does Byakugan do besides the 360 degrees telescopic vision? out of the three blessed eyes the Byakugan seems to be really really underpowered, Sharingan has MS and EMS which does Amaterasu, Izanami, Izanagi, Susanoo, Tsukoyomi,etc. while Rinnegan has the six paths, but Byakugan only has one use.

I do think Byakugan is uderpowered. Since the Hyaga are decendants of the Uchiaha it should have extra powers.

I don't know if you mean just the Byakugan or the Hyuuga as a whole, but Gentle Fist and Kaiten are pretty strong as well, at least when it was first introduced.

A plot error/contradiction that I've pointed out. Not only did Kakashi state that the Uchiha clan's origins lies within the Hyuuga clan, but he also stated that the Hyuuga was Konoha's oldest clan. Obviously we know neither of these two to be the truth with the later information we're provided with... So I don't know what to tell you, at this point, I guess you'd have to throw what Kakashi said out the window.


But as for the Byakugan, it provides you with quite a distanced viewing so you can distinguish targets before they reach within your vicinity. I think that is very adequate itself.
