Why dont you see eye pupil ?
Simple, it is always stay hidden under the thick layer until byakugan user channel their chakra into their eyes so we can see it glows. That mean their eyes is just pure white but still has pupil like every one else. Just like albino lack of pigment or just pure white.
Theory 1: If they need to light up their pupil to see through the thick layer then Boruto doesnt need that now because Naruto gen added pigment or mix gen. Now Boruto eyes is visible and should able to see thing like byakugan user w/o chakra enchancement to make it glows (in short range, long range may needs more glow..more chakra)
Theory 2: If their eyes is pure white (no need to see through thick layer) and the chakra is only to enhance the eye ability to scan thing far away... then Naruto gen that added to Hinata gen and make the pupil visible (like add colour/pigment) ... so that mean Boruto still able to activate hyuga gen in his eyes for byakugan by adding chakra to it.
By logic, Hinata only carry pure gen of Hyuga, because they are like Uchiha, pure blood and their child still carry the full potential of the gen (only apply to manga logic). Only if their child marry some one else out of the clan, like haruno gen X kiba kid = mega fodder. But if Sarada gives away uchiha gen vs either uzumaki gen or hyuga gen = super man.
Since hyuga only need their own gen to activate byakugan.
Note: In this manga logic, if you carry hashi gen, you still have potential to unlock his full power if you are skill enough. Same can be apply to Boruto.
