pretty sure boruto does not have a byakugan last time i checked it wasnt black and blue, had veins around the eyes and it could not sense evil presences

I really don't understand, if it was that strong of a dojutsu, what would be the point of constantly bragging about it.

Sharingan is a strong Doujutsu, and everyone brags about it. Let Hyuga fans have their time now.

That's anime's coloring, the manga is far far different.

In my op like so many things that were over looked in the original series to focus on developing Naruto and Sasuke's stories, the Byakugan simply was overlooked. Being that its the original Doujutsu there was clearly potential to develop it further.

I do agree that developing it now doesn't lend symmetry to the original story. Its more like correcting a wrong from the original story.
Its certainly possible to play it off smoothly though. It can be argued that no one in the Hyuga Clan during the Naruto series had the capabilities to further develope it minus Neji but due to his lack of screen time and early death it just didn't happen. Now with Boruto and Himawari the Byakugan can get the respect and development it deserves. Hopefully we will get some backstory to tie it all together logically so that it makes sense.
