Byakugan evolves to Rinnegan

I never thought Byakugan could evolve to Rinnegan. In the preview Hagoromo had Byakugan. I don't get it. Wouldn't Indra have Byakugan then? Or... is it Byakugan + Juubi chakra = Sharingan.

The Sharingan is what evolves into the Rinnegan; the Byakugan is a different branch of power, which evolution is the Tenseigan.

No it's not a filler. It's canon. And I think Byakugan evolves to Tenseigan or Rinnegan. Hagoromo had her yang power so he had Rinnegan. Hamura had her yin power so he had Tenseigan.

No it's a filler. This never happened in the manga nor The Last(or any of the movies)/Novels/games/Gaiden etc. just because it was done by SP in the middle of canon material doesn't make it canon. No Byakugan user EVER evolved the Byakugan into Rinnegan and it was never stated anywhere that Hagoromo EVER had the Byakugan. That was Hamura's realm not Hagoromo.

While it's nice we get some background on her it's still filler. Nothing said it had to be a bad filler but it is what it is. Let's just leave it at that.

Rennigan isn't related to Sharingan. It's related to Ashura and Indra's power, hence why someone like Hashirama could potentially get Rennigan with no Sharingan.

While I get your point I actually don't think it works that way with Ashura reincarnate/transmigrates. If Hashirama were to obtain Madara's/Indra's DNA I think he would awaken the body, like Naruto had and not the eyes. But sure the history and background on these evolutions have been butchered and altered and rewrites so many times your point is validated.

Rinnegan is its own dojutsu that is awakened from having the right type of rikudou chakara (such as Hagoromo's chakara, which can also come from the fusion of Indra and Asura's chakara).

Notice that Momoshiki also possessed the rinnegan, and he had byakugan as well (and no sign of sharingan)?

Hagoromo was the first man to understand the nature of chakra. I think that's how he awakened Rinnegan.
