Byakugan and Sharingan anymore relevance to each other?

So...you guys remember in part 1 when Kakashi the hyuga and uchiha may have been distantly derived from each other, so do you guys think this still has any relevance seeing as how the sharingan comes from the sages oldest son's eyes or do you think that the sage's son had two children each with different dojutsu one with sharingan and the other with byakugan ? Or do you think the sharingan is still derived from the byakugan or vice versa. My personal preference is for the former and that which ever son inherited the byakugan was more obscure and less "legendary" when compared to the child that had sharingan. So let me know your thoughts you guys.

It was kind of idiotic how certain things like the Hyuugas and Byakugan were neglected by the end of part 1. Tobi's story about the SO6P should have dealt with the Byakugan as well.

I don't think they're related though. They have no relevance except for being eye dojutsus.

Sharingan copies techs, Byakugan has 360 degree vision.

Sharingan changes the pupils, Byakugan makes veins around the eyes appear.
