Reserving something for later would be useless because it may not even be need in future or it may be to too late when the technique is at its optimum level. + It took so many years of continuous gathering. The time difference here before her activation would not have been that much.

Byakugou is a very underrated technique. I am pretty sure she can regenerate people like that. The reason she can't or other medica can't normally regenerate is because they don't have have mass amounts of chakra to stimulate regeneration. But with the Byakugou she can.
