all the players in the list have highlights just as amazing as wilsheres , dont count them out , if you look at fifa 12 etc , who genuinely go and scout every single player in the game and study everything they do , wilshere has a similar potential to the all , some already hold records in lesser leagues e.g. eriksen scored the most goals in a debut season in the eridsvise league , and neymar is the youngest player to score 8 goals for their country.... dont count em out :p

Unless serious injuries, CR7 and Messi will both remain at their peaks for the next 4-7 years.

A player's prime usually comes at the age of 23-27. Personally, I don't buy into this Neymar hype too much. He's good but he won't prove his mettle until he's in a big European Cup.

The ones with most potential are Hazard & Neymar. Hazard is making the big move this year while Neymar might not leave Brazil till 2014. Still, I don't think Hazard or Neymar will someday reach greater or same summits as Messi or CR7. The others even less; though they'll all prove to be among the finest elites in the next 3 years. Don't forget that there are a bunch of gifted youngsters who'd come out in the next 5 years.

It's hard to predict the next Number 1; though the favorite is said to be Neymar. I personally see the ones who've played CL having a better edge over the Neymar and others. Guys like Eriksen, Hazard or Munian shined in certain big-level CL/Europa matches while the only match Neymar played at big club level was a squash trashing against Barcelona in Club's World Cup.

Joe Hart is a GK, so why is he being compared to strikers? He is also 25 and not 21. Strikers and midfielders shouldn't really get compared either as they have different roles to play (Neymar and Hazard). Varane is a defender and he on odds times starts on Madrid bench, usually on B team, so don't know why he is on that list, or for the fact why a defender is being compared with strikers either.

As what Escorp said, you can't really count Messi, or CR out as they still have many years to go, Messi more than Ronaldo unless injuries happen.

List like yours are created every year or every couple years, and the same thing always happens either you have players like Zidane, Ronaldo (9), CR7, and Messi who leave a print on this world of football, than you have players such as Augero, Villa, Silva, Higuain, Benzema, etc who are known as world class players, but not in standings with the best. We also have players like Kaka, Ronaldinho, Deco, Torres, etc who have a few good years, but than due to some injury, or other means, they suffer (maybe Kaka and Ronaldinho shouldn't be on this list, but truth is Kaka was good in his Milan days and Dinho was in Barca). There are also players like Suarez, Cavani, Falcao, Hulk, etc who go by barely getting notice and when they do there price tags are nice and juicy with a little age added on. Than theres Pato, Robinho, Aquilani, and etc which are known as the flops.

This year, there are many good players, such as Hulk, Falcao, Augero, Hazard, Neymar, Lucas, Ganso. Gotze, etc, but we don't know what the future holds for them until they come to a good team in Europe and we see what impact they make with them.

I'm going to say either Eden Hazard or Mario Goetze. Neymar could be but it all depends on how quickly he comes to Europe.

Are you sure that Messi will age more gracefully than CR7?

The way I see it, is that CR7's physique and metabolism seems perfect for an athlete. One that shall permit him to remain in pretty good shape even with some age and injuries. Perhaps at his optimum in some big club even in his 30s.

I know Messi is younger but we shall not forget that he had to go through serious treatment due to his height and stuffs. So, will he remain at the highest level after 5 years? Surely, since he's a gifted player but medically speaking, he does not posses the ideal physique to continue on his frenzied pace in his 32+ years.

Till now, Messi did awesomely well for someone who used medicinal drugs and treatment to be able to play. He's being the best; despite that issue and to add to that, he's doing that by competing inside the best club. Apart from injuries in his early days, he barely gets any injury now. What more to ask?

But like I often say, I will never remove the possibility that the treatment of Messi might someday have some serious repercussions in the future.

We often undermine physique but the fact is that it is arguably the main factor why Ronaldo (BRA) didn't remain the best for some more years. Personally, he should have remained at his peak during his entire Madrid days and perhaps, be atleast among the best striker, even in his Milan days. But he was much less in-form at 28-29 which speaks for itself.

I don't think that'll be the case for CR7 or Messi unless a big injury.

compare the impact they have on the game , their potential and skill level , not just their positions , im being position specific about the required skills , midfielders need an engine where as goalkeepers need amazing reactions , basically they are compared as overall talent and not a comparison of how good a striker they are....

besides , big clubs?

so AJAX,LILLE,BARCALONA,REAL MADRID,ATHLETICO MADRID,BORUSSIA DORTMUND,MAN CITY arent big clubs? santos is rather large too , and so is internacionale porto alegre , but still immense teams from brazil....

The times where defender or goalkeepers will be given Best Player are unfortunately gone. Nowadays, regardless of the talent of a GK or Def or even Midfielder, they'll barely stand a chance for Ballon D'Or or FIFA World Player.

Your question was about Best Football player in some years. Thus, ReLax points' are accurate enough since it's nearly impossible that Best Player tag will be given to some player other than a striker or offensive midfielder.

And yeah, Bilbao, Lille are not Big Clubs.
Ajax and Santos aren't either. They just got lots of history but their level aren't the same with Top Guns.
City, Athletico Madrid and Dortmund are growing teams. They might become big clubs in years to come but they need to keep winning.

What he meant by Big Clubs is that those talents need to prove themselves among the Elites. If we were to give a logical choice of elites clubs, then it would be the Top 5/Top 6 of Those Top 5/6 are the BIG teams.
