Ok 
I jump back and spit a small fireball at your hand, but before it does any serious damage i dispell it.
Leaving you with a small burn.
I did this for two reason's,
The first is because i wont have any lazy students :|
And the second is so you could realize what the element feels like before we start.
So explain the feeling if you would.

Oh sorry sensei, my bad. Well, in my opinion, fire feels like destruction, even though it burns, it feels cold and empty. But it can also feel warm and can give people hope, if used in the right way. Sorry if that wasn't a good explanation. It's just how I view it.
It wasnt very logical,

Here are some facts about Katon Jutsu.
Katon, is basically created by rising the temprature of your chakra.

Okay sensei xD *Builds up the heat of my chakra just enough to start creating a gas, it builds up inside my body, I thEn release in from mouth, after using the first jutsu, creating a bigger, hotter flame*
