Backstory: Basically Ashura was initially born to a lost part of the Senju clan that later returned to the Hidden Leaf.
With his parents dead and his mother formerly part of the branch family of the hyuga he was treated as an outsider but truly considered a brat and genius. Willing to put his life on the line to prove what he's really worth. Only being part of the hyuga branch family for a few years mastering his byakugan to extents of jonin . He was considered to be even greater then Neji with the gentle fist.

Being part of the 8th hokages genin team and being outclassed by only one of them. The uchiha senju , Kira completely the opposite in attitude

Graduating with his team at the age of 8 and becoming chunin at 11.
During the chunin exams ashura was ultimately defeated by Kira.
The two had a bitter rivalry later with Kira being put in charge of the mission he leads a team into a trap with their uzumaki uchiha teammate being left unconscious for several years.
As the story goes Kira makes unfortunate decisions along the path learning of the legend of the sage of six paths wanting more power.
He later defects from the village with ashura of course chasing him but later turning on him for being a traitor.
Throughout their history Kira and ashura go through many battles with ashura. In one battle Kira is forced to take ashura's eyes out because of his combination of FTG and Gentle fist but
Left hopeless on how to stop Kira he replaces his eyes with the sharingan of his late friend being part of the hyuga and the control over dojutsu himself he was able to switch his eyes back and forth. With all that Kira was doing trying to gain even greater power then the sage putting his plan forth ashura later awakens the ms overtime advancing it into a new dojutsu.
