Hello, I had an Acer Laptop designed for Windows Vista, but it was corrupt with BSOD.

- I did not have the Vista CD to Recover my'laptop
- Safe mode (F8) wouln't work because I forgot the'password.
> I had a Windows XP Basic Disc, and my mistake was that I installed XP 2002 on a Vista-made laptop. (I think)

So after installing XP, the laptop worked, but it seems that Network Adapters and other hardware have a yellow question mark next to them. Is XP not compatible with a newer Vista Laptop?

I don't know if its because of XP, or the hardware itself. But I can't access internet, sound, etc.

I'll second the drivers. Here's a link.

Just enter your model number, serial number, or look up the computer. You should be able to install your driver. Hope this helps.

Edit: if you cannot access the internet from your computer, you'll need to download the drivers from a device that can access the internet and then transfer the file. I'd recommend downloading the LAN or WLAN driver first so that you can directly download to your computer.
