Brook is a man of tall, but incredibly slim build. So slim infact, that he has been said to have the appearance of a skeleton, whereas he isn't. He's often mistaken for a skeleton, but that's because he's also quite pale. The Kaguya clan's internal bodily functions are quite irregular, and is unknown to what their nutritional needs are. This is said to be the cause for Brook's look; the slimness of his build, and the paleness of his skin. This can deprive from the fact that he is a Kaguya, but he also spends a lot of time indoors, which also explains this. Although he is like this, he covers up the majority of his body by wearing quite strange attire. He is slim to the point where you can see the shadows and outlines of the bones on his face and hands.
Brook's outfit is quite strange and alluring. He wears a large hat with a crown on top of it over the top of his big black afro. He wears a black suit jacket along with a blue cravat lined with purple pearls or something. Around his neck lies an orange feather boa. Under his jacked he wears a dirty white shirt with the ends sticking out, so they look like they have flair, it also somewhat shields his boney arms. He also wears funky pink pants with a floral pattern and nice dress shows. What's most alluring about his outfit, is that he wears extremely large black goggles over his eyes. Seeing as he spends lots of time indoors, his eyes take a lot of time adjusting to the light. Along with this, he also wears flashy heart-shaped sunglasses, although these are primarily for flair and have nothing else to do.

Brook is someone with quite the eccentric personality. For starters, he claims to be a gentleman, while having very bad manners such as asking women to show him her panties. Alongside this, he also asks others for money and is impatient when it comes to food. Despite this, he does have a few polite, gentlemanly traits such as ending people's names with the "san" honorific and appreciating even the smallest things, such as a small kind gesture or the company of others.
He has a very unique laughter, using "yohoho" instead of a normal laugh. Brook is also said to be scared of many things, such as those of the paranormal. He is also quite the musician, and tends to sing to himself when fighting, which allows him to fight without worrying about being scared.

Shikotsumyaku, literally meaning "Dead Bone Pulse" is the Kekkei Genkai of the Kaguya clan, which gave them the ability to manipulate their own skeletal structure. By infusing their calcium with chakra, they can manipulate the growth and properties of their bones by will.
Genjutsu is a strange ability in a Kaguya, someone who focuses more on Taijutsu, but nonetheless Brook has exhibited quite the skill with it to the extent that his Genjutsu techniques are much stronger than usual, and are more prominent and tougher to distinguish.

背景の歴史
Brook was born in the heart of Kirigakure, but in a secluded area similar to ANBU, but for those of Kaguya blood only. This was really because at the time Kirigakure and the Kaguya clan were in a truce to be protected while they are being targeted by other countries. When Brook was younger though, about the age of 7 the Kaguya clan who were known for being blood-thirsty and war torn decided to take over Kirigakure. Brook, however eager he was to fight alongside his fellow clanmates, was forced to stay back to have some purpose in life, and maybe keep the Kaguya bloodline going. Because of this war, most of the Kaguyas had died, leaving Brook to fend for himself and be alone.
Having this feeling throughout him that he would be alone for pretty much the rest of his life; having no one to grow up with him made something happen, like something sparked within him. Without even a thought, bones began sprouting out of him out of pure anger and sadness. Brook knew what this meant, seeing he was from the Kaguya clan, that he was one of the few members who had the potential to manipulate their bones.
Nevertheless, Brook spent practically his whole life fending for himself, developing skills and whatnot. As a Kaguya as well as being after the war, he was often ridiculed for being an outsider and different. Nevertheless they didn't exactly have the guts to throw out a natural-born Kirigakure person, so they allowed him to stay. This went on for many a year, with him having to scrape through life with the bare minimum. Because of this, he didn't exactly get a lot of care which he needed, thus ending up quite skinny.
About the time which he was 48, there was a young man, skilled in being a shinobi who came to grace Brook with his presence. He was Xylon, a mysterious man graced with many potent abilities and whatnot. Of course, because of Brook's look at the time which seemed old and fragile Xylon of course chuckled complimenting how he's still alive and commented saying he looked like a skeleton. He and Brook became good friends.
After Xylon found out he was a member of the Kaguya clan, he has a predisposition for him, a chance to even further those dormant abilities. Considering his current looks and whatnot, Xylon offered to place a small Genjutsu seal on him, which Brook graciously accepted. This was a special seal based moreso on fooling enemies that you would be slightly more immune to Taijutsu attacks by taking on the appearance of a skeleton. Brook thought that being a Taijutsu user himself, this would be great for him.
Xylon also had another surprise in for him, a chance to become a toad; a member of Myobokuzan. Xylon wasn't exactly a part of this group of people, but was on good terms with them, so he was able to visit whenever he wanted. After meeting the toads, Brook decided it would be a great opportunity to meet other strong people alongside him. He now spends his time helping others and honing his Kaguya abilities.

Brook growing up in Kirigakure meant he would spend a lot of time in the Hidden Mist, as well as getting to know about it. Because of this, Brook has come to rely on more his other senses of hearing and scent, rather than his sight.
Xylon's Genjutsu Seal
Through his travels, Brook met Xylon, a powerful ninja who offered to put a Genjutsu seal on him. This makes him as well as others think that he takes the appearance of a skeleton, and that he more immune to physical blows.

Brook's sword. It's a standard sword concealed in a purple cane. It allows him to use Kenjutsu techniques as well as look more gentlemanly.
