Broly may be powerful but he is way too overrated by some people claiming he has unlimited Ki,he can beat kid buu and Janemba and give SSJ4 Goku a good fight and a whole load of other bullshit. But if you look at him in a logical way you would realise that he is barely on SSJ2 level and Goku with energy from the Z fighters beat him with one punch and that he is one of the biggest dumbasses in DBZ as seen when Gohan tricked him and made him get caught in lava. Also he would get owned by loads of Characters such as Teen Gohan SSJ2, Majin Vegeta, Super Perfect Cell, Fat Buu, Super Buu and multiple others and he isn't "invincible" and can be harmed in his LSSJ form.

So had he not died all the way, had time to heal as he did the first time, it's possible he would've been on par with SSJ3 Goku.

Broly is considerably overrated but you just mention what Broly was capable of in the first Movie. In the second Movie he obtained a Zenkai and his Power Level sky rockets, as he was able to completely overpower a SSJ2 Gohan. I would say that Broly is a high SSJ2 level in the second Movie. In the third Movie Broly obtained a second Zenkai before that green sludge engulfed him. I would say that Broly obtaining a second Zenkai would he so powerful that he would be able to rival a SSJ3 Goku.
