Consistent? Oh wow. So the Anime basically shows past events and is consistent? It is obvious that the anime needs the manga to make it canon, otherwise Boruto would never reference the field trip to the hidden mist which shows that the Manga is obviously the validator of the anime events.

If the Manga doesn't reference it, we have a bunch of freaking filler events in the Anime and that is it.
