the third book in the earagon series by christopher paolini what do u think

personally it is good but it is to much like star wars and lord of the rings think about it

leaves farm comes back farm burned and uncle dead remind u of something

going and finding out another rider still exists who can teach him then he has an image of his friends in trouble remind u of something

getting a sword that used to be his fathers

the twleve evil t=dragon riders (the ring raiths)

evil emporor (sauron/emperor)

having a former of the verden (murtagh) join him (vader) and also in the book (which i am still reading) eragon tells murtagh that there is a way for him to escape galbatorix (changing his real name)

brom=obi wan in every way

razak=orks/urucai

it is good but to much like lord of the rings/star wars

I kind of already made a thread for the whole series a while ago >.<.

And lol, it's not a lot like Lord of the Rings/Star Wars unless you're really thinking about it, and in truth, that's just basically trying to find something wrong with the book, or as it's referred to now, "hatin'" XD.

Plus, Christopher is young, do you really expect him to not take some things from other books, taking things from other things similar to it isn't a bad thing at all. Do you know how much Kishi takes from shoes like DBZ? It's simply inspiration, and there's nothing wrong with inspiration. In my opinion, you're thinking way too much into this.

im also gonna argue with you here,

the thing is there are some similarities but the story is so different to ether Lotr or Star wars, that it doesn't matter the story is so different and entertaining, that even these loose similarities that you have managed to connect the story is still brilliant, so if you don't like it then don't bother trying to make other people dislike it. i think it is a really good story and has great depth.

first i happen to like it

and not the same stroy line

farm boy (luke or even frodo) goes out on a gurny (luke and fordo) gets trained and his teach dies along the way (luke) trying to defeat an evil emporor (luke and frodo) there is a rebelion that is fighting (rebbles and the men who are holding off sauron) a betrayel by the twins (saruman) he goes to train by a master who he thought didn't exist (oromis=yoda) he has a vision of his friends in danger during the training and promises to return (luke) murtagh's betrayel (anaken) finding out that murtagh is his brother and morzan his father (vader) it is very much the same story line and the forsthron are the ring raiths

Lol, once again, my only reply to this is, you're thinking much too into this, unecessarily into it.

i can understand why you think its similar to star wars and lotr but what your missing is the fact that the loss of a mentor, a close comrade becomin an antagonist, inhuman subortinates of the main antagonist, these are not atrributes of star wars or lotr they are literary archetypes you'll find them in way more than just these three series

for example in harry potter sirius black can be the equivalent of brom or obi wan seeing that he is a mentor to the main character and he has a tragic death that leads the main character to develop in a new light
examples like this go on and on but i think you got the gist of my english lesson

loss of a mentor (oromis and brom) yoda and obi was close comrade going bad (star wars episodes 1,2,3 aniken) and serious black wasn't a mentor he was a god father
