Breaking/Seeing trhough Genjutsu

Hey guys this is something I want to discuss with everyone. In the manga the term"seeing through Genjutsu" has been used a few times in the manga especially by sasuke during his fight with itachi and after.

Now how does the sharingan see through genjutsu?

Does it work by using it's sharp vision to see imperfections in the illusion? If so then people with good sense of smell like an inuzuka should be able to smell the imperfections as well. Diedara was shown to see through genjutsu aswell with his left eye.

Does this mean that diedaras ability to see through genjutsu matches the sharingan?

After realising they are in genjutsu they then proceed to use the "KAI" to release it. If this method is used shouldn't the rinnegan and byakugan be able to use this aswell? epecially the byakugan. Shouldn't sensors like karin,shee and sages like naruto and kabuto be able to this? Then why was kabuto so afraid of the sharingan genjutsu and shee getting one-shotted by sasuke.

The thing is kishi has not been clear on how genjutsu is broken. He shows genjutsu getting broken one time and then the next time he shows those who should break it like shee, get one shotted.

Can someone please clear this up or atleast provide an opinion(s) with evidence on this.

Sharingan can see the flow of chakra through your body as well as everyone elses. And if you are in a Genjutsu, you can look at yourself (eg, your hands. Like when Sasuke used Chidori Spear in that image you have) and see the flow is altered, allowing you to see it's a Genjutsu.

They are also somewhat resistant to them.

Byakugan can see through Genjutsu this is because using Byakugan one can see flow of chakra and when user is in Genjutsu his flow of chakra isn't normal and disrupted hence Byakugan can see through Genjutsu, Sharingan is also capable of doing it, which clearly explains Sasuke's statement.
Only Sharigan users can break genjutsu, (except diedara, who trained his eye to do so)if it is casted using Sharigan and you can break Tsukuyomi if and only if other guy a Sharingan user that shares the same blood as caster, this is the reason Sasuke was able to do so, so Karin, C or Byakugan users can see through but can't break it..

I see thanks rep you . But dosen't itachi mean if you have uchiha blood and kakashi thought of sasuke because that was the only other uchiha he knew of. Otherwise obito would have been very afraid of itachi.

i.e. your ability to see,to hear etc.
gentsu can control your chakra flow..its like controlling someone's reflexes..you can make them see what you want..you can make them hear what you want etc.
a disturebed chakra flow is a sign of being in a genjutsu.

when a genjutsu is casted on someone by using 'vision' as a medium its known as visual genjutsu.

now the phrase..'to see through genjutsu' probably means..

if you have a sharingan..which is an ocular jutsu

then you already have a counter attack in your pocket.
if you have an ocular jutsu and if someone casts an illusionary technique(genjutsu) on you by using 'vision' as a medium..then you can see through it due to your ocular ability.

if you dont have an ocular ability to counter attack a 'visual genjutsu'..then another way is to train.

result- genjutsu will get repelled since the genjutsu user wont have control on your chakra flow.

deidara merely trained his eye to detect when he is on genjutsu.. because he got trickked by itachi but if he is caught high ranked genjutsu knowing he is under genjutsu do him litlle good,

Like to add one more thing you can break Genjutsu if you are medical nin, just like Sakura was able to able to do using Chakra transfer..

However, with the assistance of a comrade or a Bijuu sealed inside an individual, the disruption is always a guaranteed success.

This method might not work for some illusions as seen with the Second Mizukage's genjutsu which still confounded the 4th division even though there were thousands of them to help break each other out.

Killing the Caster This will work for any illusion except Kotoamatsukami which still controlled Itachi despite the destruction of Shisui's eye.

Nice explanation but what about the bolded part? Are you saying that sasuke and itachi lacked the skill to break out of kabutos genjutsu?
