You're talking like i don't know anything, but I do know and I also know that a break each month is too much. I'm sure he still has time off, you can't take interviews that serious, journalists aren't that thrustworthy... That's a known fact and who knows, maybe he bragged in the interview

I really respect his work and am glad it gets updated every week for free, but come on, a break each month, that's just a bit over the edge

Of course he can have breaks, but there's just been a 2 week break with new year, and in december there was another break, and every month before that

(and don't start about the hospital thing, that was like 8 months ago, he should've been recovered by now)

ok:
1. go buy all 69 volumes before you post again
2. if he wants to take a break and have a day off every week I say he should do it, though he works every day, but ofc he has breaks during his work hours, he eats, he has to go to the bathroom and he has to spend at least some time with the family ... but all those are things most of us take for granted but are very limited to him so STFU, if the man needs time than let him have it, he doesn't exist solely for you to get free chapters and than complain about him
3. yes we all want a chapter every week but unlike an unreasonable person we understand that Oda needs breaks because judging by an average OP, Naruto and Bleach chapter he works harder than both Kubo and Kishi combined
4. you complain about the reasons we gave you but they are ALL perfectly valid

Jump just wants to milk and stretch the most out of their #1 series, but Oda still works during those breaks.

In fact he has 5 chapters on the shelf at any moment that are ready to be published, however they keep those as a buffer in case of emergency. So it's a choice not to publish.

Besides it has always been like this and it always will be, you probably just caught up with the anime and manga recently and you can't stand the waiting for 17 pages of content every week.

His hospitalization was due to infected tonsils, I don't know why you keep bringing this up. He wasn't burned out or anything. But still he kept working in the hospital.

So give the man literally a break and stop whining man, I don't care that your a fisherman or how little you sleep, that has no relation to this subject at all. Oda has been entertaining the world for 15 years, he deserves respect for that, and I don't care that we have a break every 5 weeks. There is more to do in life than pressing F5 on mangasites to get your fix.

So yes, everybody is perfectly right for scolding you.

And no, i didn't recently caught up with one piece, I'm following the manga already for 2 years now

How I see it, is everyone shares it, but doesn't want to come out for it, and starts scolding at one guy who has the guts to say what we all share, the frustration of another manga break and getting tired of the monthly one week break while the anime is catching up

What you don't seem to understand is that it really doesn't matter whether we share the same frustration or not. Even though some of us really are fed up with all these breaks, the majority here knows that we do not have the right to complain. We're all lucky we actually get to read manga here on the internet, without paying as much as a cent, so your ranting is unnecessary.

I am 25 and have a very demanding and well respected job, and I disagree with you completely

I do in fact own (too much) One Piece merchandise, I have been following OP for more than 10 years and I indeed wish I could read a chapter next week, but unlike a spoiled child like yourself I know how to be patient and good things in life come tho those who wait, not having patience is a very bad trait my friend, not to mention there are plenty of things that you in fact have to wait for for months, years, even decades. So when you complain about someone who is working hard and simply needs more time to function properly it is just disgusting, especially since all you do is basically steal it for free on the web. And go fing buy the volumes before you complain any further.

Not to mention if Kubo and Kishi were delivering as content and detail packed chapters they would need just as many breaks if not more

It's almost as if the man is obliged to give you chapters. The man has drawn and released almost 740 chapters, not including the other things a mangaka is required to do, especially the author of the biggest selling manga, One piece. Plus, the last time Oda took a break himself was 8 chapters ago.

Fairy Tail has a lot of drawing in them as well, you might say nearly as much as One Piece, but there hasn't been any breaks for that manga, even more, he has done some specials like 2 chapters a week (in the summer for 2 weeks) or 30 pages chapters regularly

In the past there weren't a as much breakes as now, so what's changed? Where do these breaks come from?
You guys keep scolding me for saying how I'm unrespectful and sh*t, but I never said he has to work his butt off to satisfy me, I even stated the opposite that I understand he's a working being, but it's a hobby for him, not that a heavy job, although I do understand every job has its own hardships
But here you guys keep ranting at me, making my identity 10 times worse and turning me into a wall where you can throw your own frustrations of all the breaks at.

omg, don't even dare to compare the OP artwork to FT.

*Look at the simple lines of the charachters
*Look at the blank/gray/black backgrounds in most panels in FT
*look how little detail everything has
*Look how big the panels are in FT

Just because it fills a page doesn't mean it's drawn well. OP literally has 2-3 times the content FT has EACH chapter.

Plus it's not just a good looking manga; it's also dialogue heavy compared to other mangas like FT/Naruto/Bleach.

I would not say that... Fairy Tail also has a lot of details, shadowing, lines en those stuff, One Piece is more detailed, thats right, but if we are talking about Naruto, Bleach, OP and FT i'd have to rank it like this:

and yeah, I was *****ing at first, causse I've just had enough of the breaks and want to see the follow up of Dressrosa, since it's the best arc since the time-skip...
the OP chapters contain a lot of content, yet the story progresses so slow, and add those breaks, I'm sure it's killing a lot of fans...
This is a forum to share your opinions, right? I just wanted to share my frustration about that fact, and instead I got heavily scolded at like I was a spoiled brat. You can't honestly expect me to take that...

*look how little detail everything has
*Look how big the panels are in FT

Just because it fills a page doesn't mean it's drawn well. OP literally has 2-3 times the content FT has EACH chapter.

All this and don't even get us started on the story and research that goes into building the OP world

And no it isn't driving anyone away because OP has always been like that, it's not a simple linear story, Oda actually adds much dept to it so ofc OP has a complex nonlinear story, and that's how its always been so ppl who dislike a complex story weren't fans in the first place

And if I remember completely you were the one who started complaining the first, after we countered you even resorted to insults so please don't talk like we are to blame

I remember everyone thought that Rebecca looked a lot like Nami when she took of her helmet

in the FT manga there are many characters faces that just look the same with a bit different hairstyles (but tbh the Naruto manga also has that problem), for example sting looks a whole lot like Natsu, gray has way too many lookalikes too, many of them just like a copy paste face with different hair

while in OP there are almost no similarities like that, there are a few with the females but Oda usually has incredibly imaginative designs

it si obvious that Hiro takes way less time to plan ahead, his constructing of the world IS inferior to Oda's by a loooot, the FT world is very basic, the characters in OP are much more developed, the powers much more imaginative, the world much bigger and more adventurous, the story much more complex, a chapter of OP more story packed than 2 to 3 of FT

Oda does a lot of reasearch and pours a lot of references about the real world into his story read
