So they don't set it too low thinking it's high for earlier parts then power scaling etc takes effect and theirs seems low then. They'll leave it vague (over 500,000,000 or something like that) for awhile until characters start reaching their power levels.

And so all the other bounties don't look weak in comparison.

For example Ace's bounty was not revealed during Alabasta because they were hyping up Crocodiles bounty of 81 mil. If we knew Ace's bounty was 500 mil we wouldn't even be able to take 81 mil seriously.

Because there's no point in placing price to their heads when none can hope to defeat them...

So that they can set it correctly later in the series. At this point 1-2b seems like too little, while at the beginning that would have seemed impossible to attain.

Oda loves to keep these things a mystery also if it gets revealed you wouldn't take the current bounties seriously.

They probably don't have any active bounties for the simple reason those would be pointless. Those bounties still have a practical function, namely trying to get people other than the marines to catch villains. However there are no people in the world who can take on one of the Yonkou. To take down WB they had to assemble 50 battleships, 5 Shichibukai, 3 admirals, 1 fleet admiral, countless of vice-admirals and a 100 000 men strong army.

There is no one who can take down a Yonkou who is not a marine and does not have bounty himself, so putting a bounty on their heads would serve no point.

Although Jinbe's bounty increased after leaving the Shichibukai and participating in MF so maybe even a Yonkou's would increase if they openly joined the Revs or formed an alliance with another Yonko or Shichibukai, look at Law they were gonna look the other way if Luffy joined him but they weren't gonn look past an alliance so there may be ways though unlikely to increase a bounty even for a Shichibukai plus BB's bounty probably isn't done rising yet and he's a yonkou.

ya i have been wishing they would but out a bounty book like the manga make it part of the op collection
and also the df book. that talks about all fruits and who had them. they have it in the manga i want it in the store

That's why I said 'active' bounties. No doubt they will have had bounties during the course of their pirating career, but at the level they are now those have become redundant. Whether they removed their most recent bounties or not I simply think is not that important because I don't think Oda will touch the subject.

And Yonkou and Shichibukai are very well in two different leagues.

It might be the case but the fact remains even someone like Rayleigh who's considered to be as much of a threat as Whitebeard by Garp holds a bounty on his head.It'd debunk this whole big names are an exception from having bounties on their heads because no one dares to go after them argument. I mean he's just as capable as all those big names we have been discussing about; So no one'd dare to go after him for his bounty.Only WG or someone with a big bounty on his head can hope to challenge him as noted by Cali in his first post so a bounty Rayleigh is technically useless but he still has one implying that even big names in OP have bounties.
