Boruto's role in the Boruto Movie Felt Very Forced.

I just watched the Boruto movie and it was fairly good with a unique story and was certainly better than "The Last" for anyone that is not a massive Naruhina fan. The one thing that just felt very forced just for the sake of it being the "Boruto" movie was Boruto's inclusion in the final fight.

Boruto is someone that has never even fought in a legit life or death fight and whose strongest previous opponents are genin. For him to be included in a fight with someone in the Kaguya tier is absurd. What's crazier is he doesn't even want to be in the fight. It is entirely pushed by Sasuke who tracks him down, convinces Boruto to come with him, and then tells him what to do to be useful in the fight.

I can't stress how out of character this is for the Sasuke we saw during the series and gaiden. Sasuke is so obsessed with tracking down Kaguya's relatives that he spends many many years away from his own family searching for them simply on a vague threat. So for them to have actually attacked with Naruto being kidnapped and time of the essence, for Sasuke to waste his time tracking Boruto down and give him a pep talk and then have him come along even though realistically he should only be a liability is something he simply could care less to do in character.

Sasuke kind of hints he brings Boruto along for his disappearing rasengan, but that makes no sense since Boruto literally only used that rasengan like once and it barely had enough power to slightly damage a tree which should be like a flea bite against opponents with mountain busting power. If he knew about the enemies chakra absorption power why would he bring an untested gennin when he has Lee the worlds greatest tijutsu specialist available or at least someone like Sakura who is a medic in a group of no medics while Naruto could very well be badly injured. Boruto comes along solely because it is the Boruto movie and he needed to be in the final battle. Even with him in the final battle it felt forced to the point I can't really credit Boruto much for it since Sasuke and Naruto pretty much set everyting up and told Boruto what to do not that he is not skilled for his age which he is.

Sasuke's entire mission to find Kaguya remnants (Momoshiki and Kinshiki) was forced and contrived.

Kishi and SP would've been better focusing on the Sasuke-Boruto/Piccolo-Gohan dynamic.

The only part he played in without guidance (as in physical instruction), would be working together with Sasuke in order to defeat one of Momoshiki's Rinnegan. If you actually watch the scene over again, they both worked together without ever having to actually form the plan beforehand.

It's hilarious because you are right. Sasuke was going to go alone, but decided to bring Boruto after witnessing him throw the device away (at least that's where I think he contemplated on it).

There's too many DBZ parallels in the Movie for it to not be alike, honestly. I'll bring up the pictures later for you.

Anyway, your OP didn't really disclose this last minute argumentation. The entire concept of Sarada's character was to focus on the fact that she wants to be nothing like her father, to point where she even states she doesn't. In the Movie during the written response, she asked Boruto which path would her father pick, and based on interacting with him, Bolt gave her an answer. So then went the opposite direction, saying she wants to follow in her own path, and not be like Sasuke.

In Bolt's situation, it's the exact same, but opposite. He wants nothing to do with his father's path, and wants to follow Sasuke's instead.

I'm not sure why Kishimoto didn't have Sasuke train his daughter, it can happen in the future (possibly). But he made it clear on his character formats.

It is perfectly in character that sasuke has more important things to do than to remain in the company of pink hair individuals.

Secondly you said it yourself, Boruto movie will have Boruto involvement, power levels are secondary.

Obviously Sasusaku is terribly done and should not have happened but that does not mean Boruto's bond with Sasuke is not stupid also although I will say it is better.
